James Oroc

Alchemeyez is very excited to have the input and teachings of one of the most celebrated authors in the field of experiential texts on the use of DMT, Mr. James Oroc. During the Conference, Mr. Oroc will give a symposium entitled “Confessions of a Modern Mystic – Entheogens, Ego, and the Akashic Field.” His seminal book, entitled Tryptamine Palace, is a thorough examination of the history and mystery of this groundbreaking psychedelic medicine, employed by shamans, tribesmen, and spiritual seekers throughout the world!

Working as an author, photographer, and dubbing himself ‘the experiential mystic’, James Oroc is a citizen of the world who resides between the Dominican Republic, New Orleans, and Black Rock City.

The early version(s) of his book Tryptamine Palace (about the rare entheogen 5-MeO-DMT) is believed to be the first book written for and distributed (gifted) at the Burning Man festival. Since the subsequent publication of the final version of Tryptamine Palace for a global audience by Inner Traditions in 2009, Roc has lectured regularly on the relationship between the endogenous tryptamines (DMT and 5-MeO-DMT) and the Mystical Experience at conferences and visionary festivals around the world.  He has also contributed articles to The Entheogen Review, the MAPS journal, and the COSM journal; and is the curator of the recently launched web-information site www.dmtsite.com.
